Since we are not hiring a wedding coordinator, I read a lot of wedding forums and websites. We are doing it all by ourselves!:) Aside from the fact that it will add up to our wedding expenses, I want to be a hands on bride to be! I still have a year to prepare and I am enjoying every single detail of the wedding preparation.
We have attended some food tastings (and we're looking forward for more), had several trial make up sessions, checked various photo and video suppliers, but when they ask me, "saan and kailan ba yung kasal?" I always end up feeling like, our wedding is not official yet, since we still do not have a church!
Our original plan is to have UST church (since I graduated from UST), or Sto. Domingo church (may parents got married there), but their reservations will open early next year. So I was panicking, ranting and telling my fiance that we might not get the date that we want to have. Last Saturday, a caterer suggested that we can check Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine. It is one of the sought-after churches because of its long aisle and romantic ambiance. I googled, asked a lot of my fellow brides-to-be, and Sunday afternoon, I asked if there is an available schedule on our target date... and voila! I immediately ask Carla to pencil-book our wedding. I called John, telling him that I think I found the perfect church where we will exchange our vows. And of course, like what ha promised, he will make our wedding day the most perfect and special day of our lives... He said yes!
The day after that, we went there to personally see the church. It is actually my first time to enter that church, and... I am almost in tears. I just held his hand tight and felt like, "yes, I will get married here."
So we paid for the reservation/down payment after he discussed everything to us. I am really excited and nervous as I write down our names. Now that it's official... Yes, we are getting married!! (as in totoo na to!)
Here are some of the pictures that I got online. :)
