Korean Escapade. Day 1-arrival

Ola! I know I should have posted this long time ago, but because my husband is too lazy to convert our pictures from raw to .jpeg, I had a hard time uploading them. Anyway, let me divide it into a day by day fun holiday, since I want to share as much as I can and having it in one entry might be too boring.=P

Just a short intro: Our original plan is to have our honeymoon in Japan, but unfortunately, there are no sale flights available. Second option, Korea! We got our tickets for 14,5++ for two, and according to my friends, the price is just reasonable. We also planned to see cherry blossoms, but we prioritized the expenses of our wedding so we just had autumn instead.

On the day of our departure, we went to Trinoma just to have our peso changed into won, but to our luck, they don't have any won available! I was hesitant to change it to dollar so we just tried our luck in Korea. Thank goodness that my mother gave us some dollars, that helped us a lot!

Tried Cebupac's onboard meals, I ordered Kaldereta! It's soooo good! :) Oh and on our way to Korea, my husband had a small talk with his seatmate Mr. Choi, and guess what, he joined us in one of our day tours! (will tell more about that in my next entries)

Hello Korea! This is how I looked like when we arrived at the airport. It's cold outside!! (that explains the scarf) My hello kitty luggage says hi! =P

It's a four hour flight so we got hungry. We arrived at the airport at around 8 or 9 in the evening. Plus we have to travel from Incheon to Seoul for an hour so we decided to eat after we dropped our things in our hotel. And since we do not have an idea on where and what to eat, we had spicy korean noodles from 711! Mine tasted better than John's this time! We tried to walk around the streets of Myeongdong but we're too tired so we went back to our hotel after 20 minutes.

I'm back!

Hello everyone! I just got back from our very memorable Korea trip yesterday with my husband and I must say that Korea is a destination to every traveler's book. I fell in love with everything in it. From food (mostly spicy), to people, and most especially the places we've been to. A week is just too short! I am still in the process of compiling all our photos 1,000+++! from my phone, to my husband's cameras. So now, I will just be sharing a few of our favorite photos. All by my hubby and his tripod. :P

Approved! Our visa was approved!! :)

Hello everyone! I am really giddy sharing you some bucket list worthy news that I have just this afternoon! And no, I am not preggers YET! I don't want to spill the beans because I believe in the jinx rule in life, so I am not sharing anything as long as it's not yet final. But now that I get to hold our passports...

We're going to Korea! Yahoo! This caused a lot of quarrels, because I always nag and ask John to prepare his requirements and all that. I got too scared that we might be wasting our money because I booked for our ticket since February. I asked some friends and researched online some tips on how to get approved, and thanks to everyone, I will be seeing the land of Kimchi two weeks from now! :) I know there are already a lot of blogs that can give you tips on how to get approved. But as for me, I can only tell you to complete the requirements and make sure that they can verify everything! In my case, Korean Embassy called our office a day after we submitted all our requirements. Our HR head answered that he approved our COE last September 19, but it was dated September 16! Sobrang kaba ko lang talaga! I even told some of my friends that I feel like throwing up because I know we will not be granted our tourist visas. But thank God, heaven and earth, it did not matter that much! So my tip is this, make sure to submit something that they can verify, it might be the hindrance to your korean dreams! :P mehehe.

Now it's tour planning time! Need to save some bucks for our pocket money, and look for the best tour deals possible! :)

Till my next adventure!

much love,

Palawan Trip 2014

Hello guys! God knows how stressed I am yesterday, that I even posted a status in Facebook that my nails are all gone!:P hahaha. I just can't tell everyone why. Mehehe. Anyway, I just want to be like Patty Laurel so I will share our most recent trip (August? recent?) with two of my closest friends. Thank God for piso fare! 1,7++ for a round trip fare to Palawan!

Can I just say that El Nido is heaven on earth! I have never seen a place as beautiful as that! Only that... I can't stand six hours of travel from Puerto Princesa to El Nido! I am a heavy sleeper but six hours? No way! Just so sad that we were not able to see the underground river in Puerto Princesa because of the weather but chillin' (naks!) in our hotel the whole day in exchange is all worth it. hehehe.

So happy to meet two backpackers from the other side of the planet. Youseff and Jon! :D

Here's one of my favorite photos of our group and our NFFs in an island in El Nido! (parang tongue twister lang!)

My golly banana, I am so hot, am I? Hahaha!

And that's not all, I forgot to mention that it's my husband's birthday trip. And I always make it a point to surprise him every year. This is my little surprise this year, I asked the hotel people to set up the room with balloons and all. Plus my friends prepared the ensaymadas (served as is cakes :P) and party poppers!

I will definitely go back to Palawan when there's piso fare again. I want to see the underground river of course!:)

Till my next adventure!

much love,

Niki xx
